L'Manberg was an independent socialist nation in the Dream SMP that existed from August 2, 2020 to January 6, 2021. It was the first state to declare independence from the Greater Dream SMP and originally allowed only Europeans to enter.
L'Manberg had its roots in the War of Independence, when its citizens, led by Wilbur Soot, won their independence from the Greater Dream SMP and established an autocratic nation. Following several civil conflicts, Wilbur announced an election to consolidate his own power, with TommyInnit as his running mate.
Following a contentious election, however, Jschlatt unexpectedly came into power. He suppressed all political opposition to his rule by exiling Wilbur and Tommy, enforcing higher taxes on outspoken citizens, and enacting several controversial changes, such as renaming the country "Manberg". Although Manberg grew economically and expanded under his rule, widespread discontent resulted in the Manberg-Pogtopia War on November 16, 2020. During the war, Wilbur, Dream, and Technoblade also exploded a large portion of the country right after Tubbo was elected as the next president.
After reconstruction, Tubbo and his cabinet attempted to consolidate power, first by exiling Tommy and second by forming the Butcher Army to execute Techno. The failure of both of these tactics caused more civil unrest, resulting in the country's absolute destruction and dissolution on January 6, 2021 after the Doomsday War.
Prior to its dissolution, L'Manberg was recognized as one of the most powerful factions on the server, behind the Greater Dream SMP, although its political power declined following the exile conflict.
Etymology, vexillology, and uniform[]
The name "L'Manberg" was first conceived by Wilbur and Tommy after the dissolution of the drug empire, when Fundy, Eret, and Tubbo (all of whom were male) had taken their side. As a result, the name ideas reflected the male population and European heritage of the nation's inhabitants. Tommy first suggested "Manberg" and "Mantopia". Due to "Manberg" sounding too American, they added an "L'" to make the name more European and to reflect French revolutionary activity. During the Schlatt Administration, the "L'" was briefly removed so that Manberg would no longer "take L's", or lose, and to reflect Schlatt's American ancestry.
The flag standard.
Similar to the nation's name, the flag borrows elements from European nations, especially France. Most distinctly, the flag uses the French tricolor, with the blue representing liberty, white representing peace, and red representing the revolution that L'Manberg was founded on. The yellow and black semicircle denote the blackstone walls surrounding the nation, and the yellow crosses represent Fundy's Dutch ancestry by referencing the flag of Amsterdam.[1]
While the name and flag of L'Manberg were inspired by European nations, the L'Manberg uniform resembles the American Revolutionary War uniform. It features a blue coat over a white vest and breeches, a red collar and sash, black boots, and a tricorn. The similarity may be a result of the parallels between L'Manberg's and America's revolutions for independence, which the members of L'Manberg have also recognized.
Variations of the uniform with slightly different colors exist as well. For example, Fundy's uniform has a light blue coat and pink and orange highlights, while Niki Nihachu's uniform has a pale indigo coat and no red.

L'Manberg was located north of the Dream SMP community house, east of Tommy's base, and next to the sea. The nation was located in a valley between steep forested hills to the west and taiga hills to the east. Originally, the nation comprised a forested area and two lakes in the valley. It was centered on the peninsula between the two lakes, where the Camarvan was built.
Soot Administration[]
War of Independence.
During the War of Independence, Eret constructed blackstone walls around L'Manberg, and the Greater Dream SMP briefly cobblestone-walled a side of L'Manberg as well. The explosion of L'Manberg during the war also altered the shape of the lakes. Under the ensuing Soot Administration, L'Manberg slowly annexed nearby areas, including the forested area by the ocean, where docks were built, and the flat taiga to the east, where the election podium was built.
Schlatt Administration[]

Schlatt Administration.
Due to removing the walls, the Schlatt Administration expanded L'Manberg (then renamed "Manberg") more rapidly. The nation continued expanding eastward, and it was centered between the taiga hills and the terraformed lake so that the election podium overlooked the majority of the nation. Although buildings mainly arose by the taiga hills, the land to the west of the lake remained part of Manberg.
Tubbo Administration[]

The Manberg-Pogtopia War left a crater through L'Manberg's center. The Tubbo Administration rebuilt the nation from the crater by constructing houses on raised platforms. Building development remained similar to that under the Schlatt Administration, with buildings concentrated along the taiga hills. Few buildings, most notably Tubbo's apiary, arose on the other side of the lake. Extreme terraforming took place on the taiga hills for El Rapids, but this was later destroyed.
Current status[]
On January 6, 2021, L'Manberg was exploded into a large, deep crater stretching from the edge of the Prime Path to the taiga hills. All of the buildings were destroyed either by TNT or wither explosions. Currently, the crater, also referred to as L'Manhole or L'Mancrater, is covered by a flat layer of glass.
History[]
Independence and foundation (July 29 — August 2, 2020)[]

L'Manberg revolutionary activity began on July 29, 2020, when Wilbur announced that he would be founding a server that granted Europeans freedom and independence. This resulted from the dissolution of his drug business, which Wilbur felt was caused by unlawful American intervention. Wilbur convinced Tommy, Fundy, Eret, and Tubbo that the business was excessively targeted and began to establish borders using white, yellow, and black concrete. The borders encompassed a forested area centered on the Camarvan, the drug business' base of operations. Wilbur also maintained that the server would be built on freedom and peace and outlawed violence and wearing armor as a result, stating that L'Manberg would use words over weapons.
While the walls were being built up, Wilbur formally presented the server to Dream. He explained that the server would be a European escape from the tyrannical rule of the Greater Dream SMP and requested that L'Manberg be allowed to establish an embassy in the Greater Dream SMP. Dream agreed, and they decided that Tommy's former base would become the L'Manberg Embassy. However, after Wilbur wrote and read L'Manberg's Declaration of Independance, he received a Declaration of War from the Greater Dream SMP.

The ensuing war on August 2, 2020 led to heavy losses for L'Manberg's fifth battalion. The Greater Dream SMP retreated from the Tower Skirmish, heightening the battalion's morale. As a result, the battalion was less suspicious when Eret led them into the Final Control Room, where Eret revealed he had defected to the other side by allowing the Greater Dream SMP to ambush and kill the battalion. After Wilbur refused to surrender, L'Manberg suffered again when Dream detonated the majority of L'Manberg's land and part of the Camarvan.
During negotiations for surrender, Tommy challenged Dream to a half-heart bow duel. If Tommy won, L'Manberg would be granted independence as a nation, but not a server. If Dream won, L'Manberg would be dissolved and Tommy would give Dream one of his two prized music discs, "mellohi". Both parties gathered to watch the duel, which Dream won. However, Tommy then traded both of his music discs, securing L'Manberg's independence.
Soot Administration (August 2 — September 22, 2020)[]
- Pet War and Railway Skirmish. Citizens did not adhere to the government's call for peace, so Wilbur established the L'Manberg Election.
- Election formed to consolidate Wilbur and Tommy's power; plan disrupted by the introduction of Quackity.
- Several parties were added to the ballot last-minute, and the coalition party of SWAG and Schlatt2020 won the election.
- Schlatt immediately exiled Wilbur and Tommy.
Schlatt Administration (September 22 — November 16, 2020)[]
- Several controversial decisions: renaming to Manberg; taking down the walls; capitalism and taxes.
- Schlatt's suppression of people and their rights (specifically Quackity and Niki) fueled Pogtopia, the rebellion movement.
- On November 16, 2020, the Manberg-Pogtopia War took place. Dream defected in the middle of the war and Schlatt died of a heart attack.
- Tubbo was elected as the new president.
- Wilbur (insane) and Techno (anarchist) blew up L'Manberg and wreaked havoc.
Tubbo Administration (November 16, 2020 — January 6, 2021)[]
- With Wilbur and Techno gone and Dream on the side, Tubbo rebuilt L'Manberg and elected his cabinet: Tommy, Quackity, and Fundy. Ranboo and Phil joined L'Manberg as well.
- Dream exercised power over L'Manberg due to Tommy. To try and regain power, Tommy was exiled.
- With their government weak due to the exile conflict, the Butcher Army was formed to hunt down Techno and regain power. The failure of this plan, however, only weakened the government, and they planned to hunt down Dream instead during the Winter Festival.
- Rather than hunting Dream, the festival set the stage for Tommy's return. Civil conflict arose again and split the nation, resulting in their decisive loss in the Doomsday War against Dream and Techno.
Dissolution and aftermath[]
- L'Manberg became L'Crater and was covered in glass.
- Members separated and formed their own groups, such as Snowchester.
