Origins SMP

The Origins SMP, also known as the Origins Mod SMP, is a private, whitelisted Minecraft SMP server modded with the Origins mod and played on by various Minecraft content creators, including the members of the Sleepy Bois Inc. Season 1 started in April 2021, Season 2 started in September 2021, and Season 3 started in January 2022.

Server gameplay is streamed on Twitch and posted on YouTube as VODs and videos.

Mod features

Alongside the origins introduced by the Origins mod, the server also has add-ons which added the Slimecican, Bee, Inchling, Starborne, and Fox origins.

Mods

The server uses several mods: the main origins mod and several custom-made add-ons. As a result, not all of the add-ons are known. Below are some of the confirmed add-ons, as well as similar add-ons made by other fans.

• Origins mod. Apace100 (created June 25, 2020). Contains the basic origins enderian, merling, phantom, elytrian, blazeborn, avian, arachnid, shulk, and feline.
• Slimecican add-on. totalelipse (created February 14, 2021).
• Bee add-on. sakisiil (created April 2021).
• Inchling add-on. MoriyaShiine (created July 27, 2020).
• Starborne add-on, version 4.5. JustHuangHere (updated September 28, 2021). Originally created by slayer.
• Fox add-on. UltrusBot (created February 23, 2021).
• Vanilla Hammers add-on.

History

Main article: Origins SMP/History

Wilbur Soot first proposed the idea of an SMP with the Origins mod, but TommyInnit created and currently manages the server. Origins SMP was created on February 11, 2021 as a casual roleplay server, with the various origins presenting interesting roleplay scenarios to work with.

Season 1

The server was active until April 2021 and was streamed occasionally until July. During this time, the members of the server settled around a lake dubbed Ring Lake and participated in minor events and disputes. The members first built their houses, and Wilbur built his haunted house. He then hosted a housewarming party that introduced Jschlatt as Fragrance Man, a character who could learn and produce scents from his body. Fragrance Man later built and jumped off a pillar, ending his involvement in the server.

Wilbur then temporarily took over Tommy and Jack Manifold's pub, renaming it The Pube, and hired Ph1LzA to rebuild it into an accessible community hub. The pub reopening took place after Phil finished building on April 14 and introduced Sneegsnag, Scott Smajor, and Technoblade to the server. Afterwards, the SMP members pursued their own engagements. Fundy joined and began a dispute with Scott Smajor over stolen items. Tommy started Innit Incorporated and created a Superhero Programme with Ranboo. Together, they recruited Phil (known as "Crow Father, champion of Mortlake") to fight fabricated crime.

Season 2

On September 27, 2021, the Origins SMP restarted on an experimental 1.18 snapshot. The members restarted with no items, and only The Pube carried over. The members began exploring the new terrain and establishing their new bases, with Niki setting up in a flooded ravine, Tommy in the base of a mountain, and Phil on top of a mountain with powdered snow. After Wilbur suggested that Tommy wasn't a chicken, but was growing to become an Elytrian like Phil, Tommy began training to fly with limited success.

Beautie_ joined on October 16, 2021, and James Marriott joined on October 18.

Season 3

On January 11, 2022, the Origins SMP restarted on a new 1.18.1 world. Like with Season 2, the members restarted with no items, with only The Pube carrying over. When the server started, Ninja joined briefly and formed a political ideology similar to communism, called Ninjology. While many server members, such as Tommy, adhere to this ideology, Phil, Sneeg, and Ranboo banded together against it.

Although the server has reset twice, The Pube and the spawn has been the center of every season. Below are the community builds of Season 3.

• The Pube: Also known as The Pube; a community pub built by Phil and run by Jack and Tommy.
• Ninjology Tower: A tower honoring Ninja and "Ninjology", the communist ideology he founded.
• Jimmy Jugs Library: A library storing all of the server's books, including Ninjology.
• Community farm: Several rings of farms and a Seed Shack, where members can get food easily.
• The Starway Express: A bridge with a railway connecting both sides of spawn.
• Storage pagoda: An oriental-style pagoda for storage.

Trivia

• The Season 1 world was "scuffed". When attempting to load a seed Wilbur found beforehand, both the seed and the server world generated, resulting in many chunks loading with radically different terrain. Odd, circular ravines, which reach down to the void, also exist around the main spawn, presumably due to an admin error.
• The Season 3 seed was chosen by the community in a Reddit post; however, it is not sure which seed won yet.
• Several origins were created for the server, including Starborne and Fox, and had to be reworked for being over- or underpowered.
• Quackity is currently whitelisted; however, he has not joined yet.
