"Hardcore Mode" Minecraft enthusiast who survived in a world for over 5 years.

Phillip Watson (born March 1, 1988), better known online as Philza Minecraft, Philza, or Phil, is an English YouTuber and Twitch streamer. He is best known for his five-year Hardcore world; its end in April 2019 was featured in many news outlets and launched Phil to fame. His current Hardcore worlds are known for the massive building projects he undertakes. His role in the Dream SMP also attracted more mainstream attention from fellow Minecraft content creators, such as TommyInnit and Dream.

Phil has been/is part of four major SMPs: SMPEarth, Dream SMP, Origins SMP, and QSMP.

Currently, Phil streams every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday on Twitch and posts stream highlights on YouTube. His streams often feature other members of the Sleepy Bois Inc. He also uploads stream clips on his clips channel, PhilzaCLIPS, and appears in videos on Tommy's channels.

Hardcore worlds

Phil began streaming in July 2017. Although he briefly streamed other games, he mainly played on his Hardcore Minecraft world and other modded Minecraft worlds. He used to upload the series exclusively on his YouTube channel, and changed to uploading stream highlights as time went on.

Season 1

This was Phil's first Minecraft Hardcore world. He released 118 episodes on his YouTube channel before his computer's hard drive died. While he did not die in the game, he counted it as a death and ended the series. On October 23, 2019, he revealed that he fixed his old hard drive, and he revisited the Season 1 world on stream.^{[citation needed]}

Season 2

The end of this season launched Phil to fame. He streamed on this Hardcore world for five years, building huge projects such as the Sky City and Chaos Caverns, before dying on April 24, 2019. This death was to a baby zombie in full, partly enchanted gold armor and a spider while in a cave, and has been widely publicized since.

Season 3

Phil started this world right after his Season 2 death. He survived for a week and a half before dying on May 10, 2019 to a glitch in The End, which pushed players off of End islands after entering End gateways.

Season 4 (current)

Phil started this world right after his Season 3 death, and has been streaming it since. He has already completed three huge projects, Endlantis, NetherVoid and FlowerFall, and is currently working on a fourth, the Greater Spawn Islands. Unlike his previous worlds, the Season 4 world also has lore surrounding his projects. For example, these projects are the residences of four godlike entities: the Ender King, the Blaze Empress, Rose the Flower Deity, and the Ocean Overlord.

Minecraft Monday

Starting in June 2019, Phil participated in every Minecraft Monday (debuting in Week 2), a competition hosted by Keemstar, except for Weeks 1 and 11. During Week 10, he met and teamed with Technoblade, and their team placed 1st. During Week 12, he met and teamed with Wilbur Soot, and they placed 6th.

After Week 12, Phil also met Wilbur at TwitchCon 2019, where he was introduced to members of SMPLive such as Jschlatt and CallMeCarson. The two of them later recorded a video, "Minecraft but we're blind until we find Diamond (ft. Wilbur Soot)", together.

Starting on November 17, 2019, Phil participated in every MC Championship except MCC 3. Every team he has been in, excluding MCC 11, has included at least one other SBI member. In MCC 4, he teamed with Techno, Wilbur, and Tommy as the Purple Pandas and placed first. In MCC 12, he teamed with Wilbur, GeorgeNotFound, and TapL as the Green Guardians and placed first again.

He also participated in the Brighton Meetup prior to MCC 8 and infamously led many players the wrong way in Ace Race during MCC 14.

SMPEarth

Phil joined SMPEarth on November 22, 2019 and formed the Antarctic Empire with Techno. Shortly afterwards forming the Empire, he, Techno, and VoiceOverPete claimed the majority of the world and were prosecuted during the Saint-Malo Trials. Although they were forced to relinquish their claim, the Antarctic Empire remained a major world power. Phil also engaged in several other conflicts, such as the Great SMPEarth War. The Battle of the Bridges between Business Bay and the Antarctic Empire, for example, introduced the Antarctic Empire to the war when Tommy attempted to kill Phil.

Dream SMP

Although Phil previously joined the Dream SMP off-stream, he debuted on the server on November 16, 2020, during the Manberg-Pogtopia War. Wilbur immediately blew up L'Manberg, his country, and asked Phil to kill him, which Phil did. Phil then lived in L'Manberg, but harbored harsh feelings towards the country due to Wilbur's death, the country's unfair administration, and mistreatment due to his relations with Techno. As a result, Phil retreated to the snowy tundra and lived with Techno, helped destroy L'Manberg during the Doomsday War, and joined the Syndicate, an anarchist organization.

Origins SMP and Free Trial SMP

Phil joined the Origins SMP on February 11, 2021 with the Elytrian origin, which gives him permanent elytra wings and other abilities. While he builds the community builds on the server, he also serves as part of Tommy and Jack Manifold's Superhero Programme as the hero "Crow Father, champion of Mortlake". Members caw to summon him to crime scenes, and because he often supplies the members with food, the food he gives is referred to as "crumbs from the Crow Father".

In June, Phil played briefly on the Free Trial SMP. However, he was quickly killed by Wilbur as part of a funny bit. Although Tommy and Wilbur offered to revive him, Phil refused because he saw his death as a legitimate Hardcore death.

• Phil is the father figure in the SBI Family AU. As a result, the SBI fanbase often refers to him as "Dadza" and to his wife, Kristin Watson, as "Mumza".
• Minecraft wrote an article and made a video about Phil following the end of his Season 2 Hardcore world.
• Other streamers and fans often say that "Philza Minecraft created Minecraft" due to the "Hatsune Miku created Minecraft" meme.
• Phil, his Twitch chat, and his fanbase have created a large assortment of real-life lore and traditions.
• When Phil gets 420 subs during a stream, he plays "Blend W", which is the anime Blend S' intro edited to feature Snoop Dogg and smoking weed. mebird recently made another version of the intro titled "Blend P", which features Phil and the other Sleepy Bois; "Blend P" is now Phil's meme stream outro.
