The Manberg Festival otherwise known as The Red Festival, is a major lore event that happened on October 16, 2020. The event was hosted by Jschlatt which he said was a way of "celebrating democracy". This turned out to be a lie and the even itself was actually an execution for Tubbo disguised as a festival. Schlatt revealed that he knew that Tubbo was a traitor and figured a good punishment is to have him decorate his own execution.
History[]
Announcement[]
The festival was announced on October 8, 2020 by Jschlatt. He explained that the event was to celebrate democracy and that everyone aside from Wilbur and Tommy (as they were exiled) was invited.
Wilbur's plan[]
After the festival was announced, Wilbur began to question if they were the good guys in this story, explaining how the entire festival seemed good rather than an act of evil. Wilbur's views on everything begins to change with him now asking the infamous question "Tommy are we the bad guys". Wilbur then begins to concoct a new plan to blow up Manberg. He meets up With Dream asking for TNT which he gives. Tommy on the other hand is opposed to the idea of blowing up Manberg and doesn't believe that they're the bad guys. This leads to many disagreements between the two leading Tommy to question whether he should continue to follow Wilbur.
The Event[]
The festival starts off normally with everyone invited celebrating Manberg and playing games that Tubbo had set up. Prior to the event however Wilbur had given the choice of blowing up Manberg to Tubbo with him telling Tubbo that if he says the phrase. "Let the festival begin" Then Wilbur will go to a secret spot, press the button and blow up Manberg.
After the events of the festival concluded, Tubbo is required to give his speech by Schlatt, which he does. After saying Wilbur's phrase Wilbur heads down to where the button is but begins to panic when he can't find it. It was at this point that Schlatt revealed that he knew Tubbo was a traitor and with the help of Quackity boxes him in and orders Technoblade to execute him. Despite the fact that Techno was on the side of Manberg he ended up doing what Schlatt asks, citing "peer pressure" as the reason.
Enraged by Techno's act of "betrayal", Tommy expresses his rage towards Techno for executing Tubbo as well as his worry towards Tubbo. The two wind up dueling it out in a pit which Techno unsurprisingly wins. The two end the duel on a truce but Tommy is evidently still angered by Techno's action. Meanwhile Wilbur continues to descent into madness with him still wanting Manberg to be blown up with the festival being a motivator.
Aftermath[]
A day after the festival concluded, Quackity would end up leaving Schlatt's side after continuous mistreatment. He joins Pogtopia after some convincing from Tommy. After Quackity joins Pogtopia the two meet up with Wilbur in which he reveals that he found that button's location. Tommy and Quackity wind up having to stop Wilbur from blowing up Manberg then and there. Wilbur ends up being convinced not to and gives leadership to Tommy and agreed to follow whatever he would do.
