Wilbur Soot, also known as Alivebur, is the key founder and first president of L'Manberg and de factor leader of Pogtopia. Despite founding L'Manberg on ideals of peace and freedom, Wilbur's view of L'Manberg deteriorated and he turned to anarchy during the Pogtopia era.
Shortly after joining the Dream SMP on July 12, 2020, Wilbur entered the server's power struggle by founding L'Manberg with TommyInnit and established its independence by winning the L'Manberg War of Independence. During the following period of civil unrest, Wilbur attempted to consolidate power through a rigged election. However, he was exiled after losing to a coalition party. He remained a political figure by establishing the Pogtopia faction, but began to doubt Pogtopia's legitimacy and experienced a psychotic break. Convinced that L'Manberg was no longer true to its founding principles, he exploded it during the Manberg-Pogtopia War on November 16, 2020, taking his last life in the process.
While in the afterlife, a ghostly manifestation of Wilbur named Ghostbur appeared. Ghostbur possessed a more naive personality and only had Wilbur's good memories. However, he was killed by Dream on April 29, 2021 to revive Wilbur. His revival was greeted with confusion, fear, and hate as well as welcoming.
Widely considered one of the most significant and influential figures in the server's history, Wilbur's earlier successes with L'Manberg's independence are generally overlooked in favor of his failure to address problems facing the nation, which culminated in his detonation of L'Manberg. A controversial and highly divisive figure, Wilbur is viewed by supporters as a champion of freedom and liberty for oppressed peoples and by critics as the founder of an unstable nation who overlooked the people in favor of his own pursuit of power.
Early life[]
Before the SMP[]
Wilbur was born to Philza and an unknown mother, who Wilbur claims was a Samsung refrigerator; his ancestry and age remain unclear. Ghostbur's later writings also revealed that Wilbur sparred with Technoblade as a child. Prior to arriving in the SMP, Wilbur fathered and raised a son, Fundy. While Fundy's mother is unknown, both claim that she was a salmon named Sally, and that she left when Fundy was nine years old.
Drug business and political radicalization[]

The Camarvan (also known as the hto dog van), the base of operations for Wilbur's drug business.
Wilbur arrived in the SMP on July 12, 2020 without Fundy, although they later met while forming L'Manberg. Despite his lower-class status when he first joined, Wilbur quickly formulated a business idea that would allow him to rise in status. He planned to scam members of their potion-brewing materials in order to increase the scarcity and demand for potions, then sell potions at a higher cost. As he believed individuals without specific goals would contribute the most to the business, he recruited Tommy. The two of them began to scam Tubbo under the pretense of promoting public health, claiming that blaze rods and associated materials caused diarrhea.
Shortly afterwards, Sapnap, an American, discovered the Camarvan and attempted to arrest Wilbur and Tommy for illegal drug dealing. Wilbur attempted to frame Sapnap with Fundy as a witness, but other mainly American members of the server arrived to charge Tommy with other past wrongdoings. Despite recruiting Fundy, Eret, and Tubbo during the ensuing commotion, the drug business fell apart.

Early foundations[]

Wilbur shows Dream L'Manberg.
Frustrated with American intervention in the drug business, which Wilbur claimed was "unlawful persecution", Wilbur decided to found a separate server for Europeans on July 25, 2020. After naming it L'Manberg, he, Tommy, Fundy, Eret, and Tubbo established L'Manberg's borders with white, yellow, and black concrete. Wilbur formally presented the server to Dream while the walls were being constructed. He stated that L'Manberg would be a peaceful nation and requested Dream to recognize their server and allow them to exchange embassies. Although Wilbur negotiated for Tommy's house to become L'Manberg's embassy and talked about exchanging visas, Dream left without agreeing to any terms.
During this time, the L'Manbergians also adopted revolutionary uniforms and wrote the (deliberately misspelled) Declaration of Independance. After reading it atop the Camarvan, Wilbur received the Declaration of War from the Greater Dream SMP and ordered the L'Manbergians to begin preparing for war.
War of Independence[]
Tower Skirmish[]
Shortly before war broke out on July 2, 2020, the Greater Dream SMP attacked and stole the majority of the supplies that the L'Manbergians had collected. Despite this, Wilbur negotiated to meet the Greater Dream SMP by the L'Manberg Embassy and allowed Tommy to lead the army, which Tommy dubbed the "Fifth Battalion".
The battalion was immediately set back when the enemy partially detonated the land in front of the embassy, forcing the battalion to retreat inside. While under fire inside, Tommy ordered the men to retreat into the sewers, and Wilbur briefly overrode Tommy's authority to order the men back up. Wilbur then led the battalion outside, where he acted as a decoy. The tactic seemed to work, and the Greater Dream SMP retreated to Ponk's Tower.
The battalion marched to Punz's Tower in response. Again, Wilbur acted as a decoy, and the repressive fire from the battalion forced the Greater Dream SMP to retreat again. The skirmish lifted the L'Manbergians' morale considerably, as they had won despite having inferior armor and weapons.
Final Control Room and bow duel[]

Eret betrays L'Manberg in the Final Control Room.
Wilbur allowed Eret to lead the battalion back to L'Manberg. Intrigued by Eret's promise of additional wartime supplies, he immediately led the L'Manbergians into Eret's Final Control Room. Although Wilbur was the first to open a chest and realize that Eret had been lying, calling Eret a traitor, he and the rest of the battalion were killed in the Room and lost their first lives.
Initially, even though L'Manberg had few supplies left, Wilbur refused to surrender. However, he changed his mind after Dream triggered a series of explosions that destroyed the majority of L'Manberg's land, stating that he would be a bad general if he allowed the L'Manbergians to suffer more. During the negotiations, Tommy challenged Dream to a half-heart bow duel. If Tommy won, L'Manberg would be granted independence, not as a server, but as a nation within the Dream SMP. If Dream won, L'Manberg would be reabsorbed into the Dream SMP and Tommy would give up his prized music disc "mellohi". Wilbur disapproved of the duel, but he counted the ten paces. When Tommy lost the bow duel, Wilbur retreated to L'Manberg with Fundy and Tubbo.
Aftermath[]
In L'Manberg, Wilbur asked Fundy to read "Ozymandias", a poem about a fallen kingdom. Halfway in, Tommy interrupted and stated that he had secured L'Manberg's independence by sacrificing both of his music discs, to Wilbur's surprise and joy. Witnessed by the L'Manbergians and the Greater Dream SMP, Wilbur wrote a new Declaration of Independance, installed himself as President Soot, and gave government positions to Tommy (treasurer of the state) and Tubbo (secretary of the state).

Death[]
On April 29, 2021 Tommy tried to sneak into the prison to kill Dream using Ghostbur as a way of getting inside. The plan fails with Tommy with Ghostbur being trapped on the on Dream's side in which he used the revive book on Ghostbur causing him to die and Wilbur coming back to life.
